CUNY Brooklyn College is a highly-ranked college in the US. It is one of the ten senior colleges of The City University of New York (CUNY) - the largest urban public higher level institution in the US, famous for its ethically diverse student body. The university says that its students speak more than 110 languages and have their roots in more than 170 countries.

Brooklyn College’s undergraduate and graduate programs are divided across five schools - the Murray Koppelman School of Business, the School of Education, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences and the School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts. Brooklyn College is also known for its undergraduate college-wide core curriculum, which aims to familiarise students with the inter-disciplinarity of history and political systems, artistic movements in literature, visual arts, drama, and music, schools of philosophy, developments in mathematics, the physical sciences, and computer science.

The Brooklyn College Library is one of the most technologically advanced within CUNY. It owns 1.5 million volumes, 45,000 serials, 43,000 electronic serials and 40,000 electronic books.

Campus life at Brooklyn College is busy. You can join sports teams, volunteer, participate in the student government or join one of 100 student clubs.

Brooklyn College’s outstanding alumni list includes writers and figures in academia such as Barbara Aronstein Black, the Dean at Columbia University School of Law, mathemmatician Ruth Aaronson Bari who worked in graph theory and homomorphisms, Bruce Chizen, President and CEO of Adobe Systems, Obba Batabunde, Emmy and Tony Award nominated actor; Barbara Boxer, US Representative and Senator, Shirley Chisholm, first African American US Congresswoman, Senator Bernie Sanders, Pulitzer Prize winning writer Victor Lasky and playwright Annie Baker, electronic music composer Laurie Spiegel and others.
