About Monmouth University
Monmouth University is a private university with an emphasis on teaching quality, and a high proportion of its faculty hold a PhD qualification or equivalent.
One of Monmouth University’s assets is its location in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The Atlantic Ocean is just one mile away, providing beautiful scenery and Jersey Shore beaches, while New York City and Philadelphia can be reached in one hour, giving access to two of the most vibrant cities in the United States.
There are seven schools at Monmouth: the Wayne D McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Education, the Leon Hess Business School, the School of Social Work, the School of Science, the Marjorie K Unterberg School of Nursing and Health Studies and the Honors School.
Students looking to start a career in the music industry can gain experience through the university’s own student-run record label, Blue Hawk Records. Whether talent scouting, promoting, managing, recording or performing, the whole product from start to finish is owned by Monmouth students.
Monmouth University competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I athletics in 23 different sports, including as men’s and women’s basketball, lacrosse and track and field. The teams are known as Hawks.
The Global Education Office is responsible for both study abroad and international students. Monmouth has programmes in Australia, England, Italy and Spain.
