About Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences

Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences is a private, research-orientated university. The university was established in 2009 in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, India.

Since its establishment, the university has been recognised by the University Grants Commission, Pharmacy Council of India, as well as being awarded a B++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

Shoolini University is known for its green status, producing twice the amount of electricity that it consumes. The campus itself is surrounded by pine and deodar forests, making for a natural environment for students to study in. The buildings are energy efficient and there are over 100 modern laboratories, as well as an award-winning library.

The sports complex and stadium offer a range of sporting activities to students, including badminton and cricket. Student societies offer extracurricular activities, such as dance, culinary arts, adventure coding, and yoga. In addition, there are also a range of community building programmes for students to get involved with.

Shoolini University consists of 12 schools: agriculture; applied sciences and biotechnology; basic sciences; computer sciences; engineering and technology; English literature; hotel management; journalism and mass communication; law; management sciences; pharmaceutical sciences, and yoga. Across these schools, courses are offered at bachelor's, master's and PhD levels.

To equip students with vital skills and aid them in graduate employment, the university has collaborated with companies such as Price Waterhouse Cooper (PWC), Oliver Wyman, Samsung, Yamaha and Reuters.

In 2019, the university established the Centre of Excellence in Energy Science and Technology at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The new centre aimed to educate students in the latest developments in energy, train students in research and development and policy research, and facilitate the creation of highly-skilled, employable graduates to fill gaps in the current energy market. At the centre, students can study a master's in energy technology, and a PhD in energy science and technology.
