About Edinburgh Napier University

Edinburgh Napier University, established in 1964, is a public university in Scotland, UK, with a high proportion of international students.

It offers a wide range of courses spanning across its six schools of arts and creative industries, business, computing, engineering and the built environment, applied sciences and health and social care. Its business school is particularly highly regarded, being certified by the Chartered Management Institute. In the arts, Screen Academy Scotland, offering degrees in film, journalism, photography and graphic design, is a joint project between Napier and the Edinburgh College of Art. Its three campuses are Merchiston, Craiglockhart and Sighthill. They are equipped with a biomechanics lab, hospital wards, clinical skills suite, computer games lab, radio, photography and music studios.

Edinburgh is one of UK’s most dynamic cities, and its old and new towns are UNESCO World Heritage sites. The city hosts four universities, the largest theatre festival in the world as well as book, film, dance, science and music festivals. Edinburgh is also known for its picturesque green spaces.

Napier’s noteworthy alumni include BBC news journalist Anna Adams, film director and screenwriter Shehzad Afzal, Bengali author and social activist Kaberi Gain, director of the European Energy Centre and promoter of renewable energy technologies Paolo Buoni, broadcaster Amanda Hamilton, Al Jazeera English correspondent Alan Fisher and Labour Party politician Jayne Baxter.
