About Kaunas University of Technology
Since its foundation in 1922, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania is valued for its links with industry, interdisciplinary and fundamentally solid education, and highly competent alumni. For more than 100 years, KTU has been nurturing talented independent thinkers, growing them to innovatively solve the challenges of tomorrow.
Today, more than 7.000 students and over 1.000 research staff are exploring such areas as clean energy, digital humanities, environmental sociology, future food technologies, healthcare engineering, wearable electronics, sustainable architecture, and intelligent computing – to name just a few. Studies and research at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is organised across 9 faculties, 8 institutes and 9 research centres.
By not only inventing new ways of making solar energy cheaper but also switching to using it on our campus, we walk the talk of sustainability. By opening up our laboratories to business and industry, by involving private companies and public organisations in the study process we bridge the gap between academia and society. By providing support for the talented and the socially underprivileged, and by offering numerous study and research resources for upskilling and reskilling, we contribute to building an informed and confident community of citizens.
