关于 Regensburg University of Applied Sciences
The Regensburg University of Applied Sciences has a history that dates back to 1846 when art master Johann Dörner founded a private school for construction and plan drawing. In 1868 the school merged with the Königliche Realschule (Royal Bavarian Highschool) and in 1953 it was renamed Bauschule für Hoch- und Tiefbau (School for Civil Engineering). The school was granted university status in 1971 and became the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences.
There are eight faculties at the university: applied natural sciences and cultural studies, architecture, civil engineering, business studies, electrical engineering and information technologies, computer science and mathematics, mechanical engineering, and social and healthcare sciences. Each faculty offers a number of courses at both undergraduate and graduate level.
Regensburg University of Applied Sciences has developed partnerships with higher education institutions around the world to promote academic and scientific collaboration. These partnerships also give students the opportunity to study abroad for a semester or an entire academic year. The university has connections with North China Institute of Aerospace Engineering, the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and the University of Hong Kong.
The university is located in Regensburg, a Bavarian city in southeast Germany. As the country’s best preserved medieval city, Regensburg has a number of historical monuments such as Porta Praetoria, the Old Stone Bridge and St Peters Cathedral. The city’s old town is filled with narrow streets and alleys, as well as a variety of shops, restaurants and bars. Regensburg hosts the May and Autumn Fair every year and in the winter months it is home to numerous Christmas markets.
