Alexander College

Established in 2006 under the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education, Alexander College is a private post-secondary institution teaching approximately 2,000 students every year.

At Alexander College, students are able to use the University Transfer programme to study first and second year university courses that can then be transferred to another college or university in the third or fourth year. The college offers more than 80 university level courses that can be transferred to other colleges.

Student are also able to enrol on the English for Academic Purposes programme which aims to support non-native English speakers with their English language skills to a university level standard. There is also a course for students looking to study English as a second language.

The university also offers an Associate of Arts (business or economics) degree and an Associate of Science degree.

Alexander College is spread across two campuses in Burnaby and Vancouver in British Columbia. The Vancouver Campus is in the centre of downtown Vancouver, close to shopping and entertainment districts and major tourist attractions. Facilities include classrooms, a science laboratory, writing and learning centre, library, and bookstore.

The Burnaby Campus is one block from one of the largest shopping centres in Canada, Metrotown Shopping Centre and the Metrotown Skytrain Station. Facilities include spacious classrooms, science laboratory, writing and learning centre, library, and bookshop.

It was named after Sir Alexander Mackenzie, the Scottish-born fur trade adventurer and author.
