We would like to point out that the complaints described in the front page article (THES, January 12) were not directed at the longstanding course run jointly by the Cambridge University Counselling Service and the Board of Continuing Education, nor would they be relevant as this is a course with its own different system of assessment, which has been thoroughly vetted and approved by the British Association for Counselling.
The complaints referred to the board's foundation courses in counselling and group work. In contrast the CUCS course is a BAC recognised training and will endeavour to continue to meet BAC standards through their rigorous and ongoing process of inspection.
