About Georgia Health Sciences University
With its own 540-bed medical centre and a specialist children's centre, MCG has some 2,500 students taught by a full-time academic staff of around 670 in five schools: medicine; allied health sciences; dentistry; graduate studies; and nursing. Founded in 1828 as the Georgia Medical Academy, it changed its name to its current title five years later.
