关于 Sapporo Gakuin University
The predecessor to Sapporo Gakuin University, Sapporo Bunka Senmon Gakuin, was founded in 1946. It was renamed Sapporo Junior College in 1950 and obtained the title of Sapporo Gakuin University in 1984.
There was a sense of restlessness among young people following World War II. They were looking for some sort of purpose to their lives. This led to the establishment of Sapporo Bunka Senmon Gakuin, a liberal arts university in Hokkaido, which eventually became Sapporo Gakuin University. These young people demonstrated enthusiasm and cooperation, both of which remain at the heart of the university today.
As part of the university’s philosophy, autonomy, human rights, coexistence, and cooperation are valued highly. The university also recognises the importance of social responsibility, democratic education and broad perspectives.
The university is one of three located in the Bunkyodai area of Ebetsu City in Japan. Students at these universities are able to explore the nearby Nopporo Forest Park. There are also many academic facilities close to the university, such as the Hokkaido Prefecture Library.
There are two campuses at the university; the main one is situated in a densely wooded green area while the sub campus is known for its athletic facilities.
The university has four undergraduate faculties: business administration, economics, humanities and jurisprudence. It also has three graduate schools including clinical psychology, law, and regional management.
Outside of the classroom there are 63 official clubs for students to get involved in. These include animation, cheerleading, basketball and ice hockey. Many of these clubs have competed at a national level and returned with impressive titles.
