关于 Oita University
Oita is a university on the southern Japanese island of Kyushu, located in the prefecture from which it takes its name. The original institution was opened in 1921, and chartered as a university in 1949. Oita University combined with Oita Medical University in 2003, and the institution now has five research courses and four faculties; Education, Economics, Medicine, and Engineering. Formal undergraduate training can begin upon completion of freshman and sophomore years, or those passing the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU).
There are three campuses at Oita; Dannoharu, Hasama and Oji. On Dannoharu campus and as part of its graduate studies programme Oita has a school offering masters degrees in Social Service Administration. Here students can combine research seminars and workshops to focus on core study as well as specific welfare programmes that interest them, for instance child welfare or social security. The faculty of Medicine is based at Hasama campus, and is also the location of centres such as the Clinical Research Building. Oji comprises of a kindergarten, junior and high school all affiliated with Oita, and is also home to the Centre for Research in Education.
Through the Centre for International Education and Research Oita offers six month study programmes to students who wish to experience Japanese life and culture, with classes taught in English. Their home university must be part of an exchange agreement with the university, and it is through them that the student should apply. As part of the Niho programme, overseas students with proficient Japanese language abilities can study in general classes at Oita.
