Biography is indeed shamefully neglected by universities ("Wanted: Cult of personality", THES, March 10). But Nigel Hamilton is not the only person teaching it. For some years now I have taught an MA course, and I find it just as stimulating to teach as Hamilton clearly does. All power then to the British Institute of Biography. The subject needs a voice if it is to gain the academic recognition it deserves.
